The Wales China Schools Project is a partnership between Cardiff Confucius Institute and Lampeter Confucius Institute, part-funded by the Chinese Authorities in collaboration with the Welsh Assembly Government, the British Council Wales and the National Centre for Languages (CILT Cymru), to deliver Mandarin Chinese and Chinese Culture to secondary and primary schools across Wales.

The project offers the following opportunities for schools in 2010:

  1. To deliver Chinese language and culture taster sessions
  2. To deliver Chinese language courses
  3. To run China Weeks for Primary Schools
  4. To manage the Wales, Europe and the World language component of the Welsh Baccalaureate
  5. To train teachers in Wales in the provision of Chinese language and culture
